An earthquake of magnitude 5.0 occurred 126 km from Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky, Russia, said the Kamchatka branch of the Unified Geophysical Service of the Russian Academy of Sciences, Ednews informs via TASS.
The Kamchatka branch of the geophysical service is collecting information on the perceptibility of tremors. Local residents are asked to fill out a form. Some have already reported that they felt a sharp, prolonged shock, the strength of which is being determined.
According to experts, the earthquake occurred at a depth of 58.7 km.
