Palestinian National Authority (PNA) President Mahmoud Abbas landed in Egypt on Saturday, for the Cairo Peace Summit.
Other high officials, such as Bahraini King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, Qatari Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al-Thani and South Africa's President Cyril Ramaphosa, also arrived in the country. Further parties joining the event are Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, Egyptian President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi, King Abdullah II of Jordan, and United Arab Emirates President Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed.
Attendees from Germany, Spain, Italy, Greece, the United Kingdom, Japan and other countries are also expected to take part in the summit. The officials will be discussing the situation in Gaza and how to end the conflict.
