Russia is committed to active construction works in the Caspian "Five" format, said Russian Minister of Foreign Affairs Sergey Lavrov during the first meeting of the inter-agency commission, Ednews reports.
"Moscow is committed to active construction works in the Caspian "Five" (Russia, Azerbaijan, Iran, Kazakhstan and Turkmenistan) format in order to strenghten the position of the region as the efficient international cooperation zone.
The joint work of the Caspian littoral countries is an important factor in ensuring security, stability and sustainable development in the entire Eurasian space. Our work consists of looking at the possibility of increasing the efficiency of efforts and the trade-economic, transport, scientific and humanitarian potential of the region in order to realize Russia's multilateral interests in the Caspian," the Russian Minister stressed.
