Kazakhstan and France have signed a declaration of intent on cooperation on strategic minerals, Ednews informs referring to the press service of Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev following a meeting with French President Emmanuel Macron.
“A joint declaration of intent was signed between Kazakhstan and France on cooperation on strategic minerals. As you saw, we also reached agreements with the companies Boehringer Ingelheim, Total Energies, Alstom,” Tokayev said, noting that he proposed creating a special working group for this.
During the negotiations, the parties paid special attention to expanding the scope of interaction in the areas of trade, economics and investment.
The importance of implementing new projects in the raw materials, agricultural, transport, logistics sectors, light industry, healthcare, innovation and finance was also noted.
As a result of the negotiations, the following documents were also signed: an intergovernmental agreement on the creation of international (French) schools in Kazakhstan and the teaching of French in secondary educational institutions of the republic; agreement on a joint venture for a project to construct wind power plants with a total capacity of 1 GW.
In addition, the parties signed an agreement on cooperation, licenses and supplies between QazBioPharm JSC and Boehringer Ingelheim Animal Health France for the local production of foot-and-mouth disease vaccine in Kazakhstan, etc.
