The bodies of 12 refugees were found on the border between Belarus and Latvia, Ednews informs referring to Belarus media citing the Investigative Committee of the country, which did not specify during what period these bodies were discovered.
In this regard, the Main Investigation Department of the Investigative Committee opened a criminal case under Article 128 (crimes against the safety of humanity).
The official representative of the Investigative Committee, Sergei Kabakovich, noted that 12 migrants became victims of the Latvian security forces, and Riga didn’t react in any way to these crimes.
He noted that the Latvian side systematically carries out illegal and forcible deportations, thereby violating the requirements of international treaties, including the Convention relating to the Status of Refugees, the International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights, and the Universal Declaration of Human Rights.
