In Italy, the draft law, prepared by the Ministry of Food Sovereignty established by the right-wing coalition government and banning the production of meat in a laboratory environment and the sale of these products, was adopted by the Italian parliament.
Ednews informs referring to Hurriyet publication, reports that the sale of products obtained from plants under names such as "steak" and "salami" is prohibited under the law.
The law, which stipulates a fine of up to 60,000 euros for the production and sale of food and feed using animal cell and tissue cultures, is said to have been prepared to protect "Italian cuisine" and the agricultural sector.
