International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) Director-General Rafael Grossi urged Western countries on Thursday to resume talks about nuclear arms with Iran, warning that Tehran's nuclear ambitions must not be ignored.
"We’re not asking for people to put pressure on Iran but to engage with us," Grossi told Financial Times. "For this thing to succeed there must be a minimum level of consensus in the international community... that Iran must really co-operate with us and that it’s not a good thing to have latent proliferation points," he added.
Furthermore, Grossi noted that Iran's stockpiling of enriched uranium continues to grow. The Iranian stockpile of uranium enriched to 60%, which is almost weapons-grade, rose by approximately 7 kg from August to the end of October, the latest IAEA data show.
