The Seoul Metropolitan Police Agency announced on Monday that several South Korean defense companies were targeted by the North Korean hacker group Andariel, which stole some of their data and even some financial funds.
The police stated that the investigation, conducted along with the United States Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), has so far shown that Andariel obtained about 1.2 terabytes in air defense weapon and workers' personal data, as well as 470 million won, or about 360,236, in digital coins.
According to Yonhap, Andariel is run by North Korea's government-run Reconnaissance General Bureau.
