Presidential elections have started in Egypt.
Ednews informs that polling stations have been opened in all provinces of the country and will operate for three days - until December 12.
According to the National Election Commission, 10,085 polling stations were organized for voting in Egypt. About 67 million citizens with the right to vote will be able to participate in the elections. The voting process is monitored by 15 thousand judges at all levels. Their main task is to supervise the counting of votes, which will begin at the end of the third day of general voting, that is, in the evening of December 12.
Apart from the current head of state of Egypt, Abdel Fattah al-Sisi, three politicians are running for the presidency. None of them have real support among the youth or other sections of the population. They are leftist oppositionist Farid Zahran, lawyer Abdel Sanad Yamama and head of the Republican People's Party Hazem Omar.
