Hungary's Foreign Minister Peter Szijjarto underscored on Monday that it is "completely irresponsible" for the European Union to begin negotiations on Ukraine's accession to the bloc.
During the press briefing, the Hungarian foreign minister emphasized that the European Commission's plan for Kiev's admission was not thoroughly considered or adequately prepared. Szijjarto stated that the Commission's assertion that Ukraine has already met some of the conditions required for accession is "false."
"The EU strategy on Ukraine not only failed but there is no hope that it will ever work," the Hungarian foreign minister pointed out.
