Zedan Khalaf, the adviser to the Iraqi prime minister for humanitarian affairs, announced on Thursday that the country's oil tanker carrying approximately 10 million liters of fuel, has departed from Barsa port heading towards the Suez Canal to provide assistance to Palestinians in the Gaza Strip, Ednews informs that Al Ghad reported.
According to him, Iraq plans to send more aid in the future.
Since October 7, shortages of fuel in the Palestinian enclave have deprived the population of electricity, impacting essential services such as hospitals. Earlier this month, Israel allowed the delivery of larger fuel volumes into the Gaza Strip.
