Japan's Finance Minister Shunichi Suzuki announced a substantial ¥4.74 billion ($32.9 billion) allocation for Noto earthquake relief efforts.
The funds will prioritize the swift delivery of essential supplies, including water, food, diapers and heaters, the official said. He, however, refrained from commenting on the specifics regarding the size and source of additional reserve funds earmarked for the budget for this fiscal year.
The allocation comes as a part of the government's efforts to address immediate needs in the aftermath of the Noto earthquake.
