Pakistan's top military and government officials will come together on Friday for a national security committee meeting as tensions with Iran rise, Ednews informs via Interfax.
The committee meeting will be chaired by Prime Minister Anwaar-ul-Haq Kakar. The head of the General Staff of the Pakistani Armed Forces and the heads of the country's intelligence services will also attend.
Due to escalating tensions with Iran, the Pakistani prime minister has cut short his trip to the Davos Forum in Switzerland.
On Thursday evening, senior Iranian Foreign Ministry Spokesman Seyyed Rasoul Mousavi wrote on the social network “X” that only “terrorists and common enemies” benefit from tensions between the two countries.
In turn, senior representative of the Pakistani Foreign Ministry Rahim Hayat Qureshi quoted this message, saying that he agreed with the words of “dear brother Seyed Rasoul Mousavi.” According to him, Pakistan and Iran have brotherly relations and they should move forward to resolve all issues through dialogue.
