Türkiye has developed laser weapons using artificial intelligence. One of its types is the laser weapon "ALKA" (directed energy weapon system) produced by ROKETSAN company, Ednews reports via "TRT Haber".
It was noted that ALKA is an innovative weapon system developed with artificial intelligence architecture. Thus, it is a hybrid air defense system that uses electromagnetic and laser technologies against asymmetric threats. The ALKA system was presented for the first time at the IDEF-2019 defense exhibition held in Istanbul.
According to specialized military publications, this type of weapon can be installed on armored vehicles and stationary objects, it is mainly intended for the destruction of drones, as well as for the remote detonation of mines and improvised explosive devices.
The maximum distance for the weapon is 4 km, the effective destruction distance of the drone is up to 1 km. "Alka" can hit different targets. Thus, the defense of objects against UAV attacks will have a unified structure.
