Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Mikhail Galuzin accused on Wednesday the United States and what he described as its "satellites" of not seeking to have a peaceful solution to the conflict in Ukraine.
"Today, the Ukrainian army exists only thanks to Western military support. In Kiev, they admit that without it, the Ukrainian Armed Forces will be able to hold out for 1–2 months," Galuzin told RIA Novosti. The minister added that, if Ukraine loses, the West will take it as its own loss to Russia.
Still, he also noted that "the foreign sponsors' rhetorics" about what he cited as Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky's "junta" is "gradually changing" as once they claimed "they would support" Kiev "as long as needed," and "now they speak out more restrainedly – as much as available capabilities allow."
