The widow of Russian opposition leader Alexey Navalny, Yulia Navalnaya (pictured) on Wednesday called on the Russian people to join the protest against Russia's President Vladimir Putin on election day, March 17.
"We need to go to the polling station on one day at one time -March 17 at noon. What to do next? You can choose. You can vote for any candidate except Putin. You can spoil your ballot. You can write 'Navalny' in big letters," Navalnaya said in a video posted on YouTube, Ednews reports.
Alexey Navalny died on February 16 in penal colony No. 3 in the Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous Okrug of "sudden death syndrome," according to Russian authorities. The Western countries' leaders accused Putin's regime of Navalny's death and decided to impose a new package of sanctions against Russian officials and entities.
