Paris's activity in trying to put together a coalition of those who are ready to send troops to Ukraine is a direct line to escalating tension, Russian President's spokesman Dmitry Peskov said, Ednews informs via Russian media.
"Of course, in general, the expansion of the discussion and the persistent activity of Paris in attempts to put together a coalition of countries that declare a hypothetical readiness to send certain contingents, of course, is nothing more than a direct line to escalate tension, this is a very dangerous line, very dangerous, and, of course, it could potentially have very undesirable consequences," he said.
French President Emmanuel Macron earlier announced the plans to create a coalition to send European troops to Ukraine. His words sparked criticism and he had to justify his statement. The leaders of all political parties in the country accused Macron of dragging Paris into the conflict, of frivolity, and also reproached him for not consulting parliament on these issues.
