The number of casualties in the 7.5-magnitude earthquake that hit Taiwan rose to four, Taiwan's National Fire Agency (NFA) reported on Wednesday.
The agency said that all the deaths occurred in Hualien County, located near the epicenter of the quake, the strongest that rocked the island in nearly 25 years. Additionally, the NFA reported that at least 57 people were injured in Hualien, Ednews reports.
Previously, regional authorities said that 26 buildings collapsed as a result of the quake, adding that significant damage was reported across the region.
