Armenia may unilaterally terminate the agreement with Russia on cooperation in the field of mass communications if the proposals of the Armenian side to edit the document are not accepted, country's Minister of High-Technological Industry Mkhitar Hayrapetyansaid, Ednews informs via Armenian media.
"Next week we plan to offer the Russian side a new package of proposals with amendments to the agreement in order to achieve a document that will work, and in case of violations, sanctions will follow. If the proposals are not accepted, then I do not rule out that Armenia will unilaterally terminate the agreement," Hayrapetyan said in parliament on Wednesday.
According to him, consultations have already taken place with the Russian side, but no consensus was reached around the violations already recorded by the Armenian side in television programs broadcast by Russian television channels on the territory of Armenia.
