Acting Iranian Foreign Minister Ali Bagheri Kani said on Thursday that Israel is trying to expand its war with Hamas to the entire region. However, he told AFP that Israel is "in no position" to fight a war against Iran.
Bagheri added that the killing of Hamas leader Ismail Haniyeh was a "costly strategic mistake." Iran maintains Israel is behind the attack that killed Haniyeh earlier this month in the Iranian capital of Tehran.
