The Russian military has begun marching with standard equipment to the territory of the Republic of Azerbaijan in Kiyamaddinli, where the Turkish-Russian Joint Monitoring Centre (Joint Centre) will be located, which will monitor the ceasefire and all military operations in Karabakh conflict zone. This was reported by Eurasia Diary, citing the website of the Russian Defence Ministry.
For several days, the servicemen studied the structure, purpose, tasks, functions and organisation of the Joint Centre at the Russian peacekeeping contingent in Khankendi.
The staff of the Joint Centre, represented by Turkey and Russia on an equal footing, will monitor the situation, the ceasefire and all combat operations using unmanned aerial vehicles.
Recently, Turkish Defence Minister Hulusi Akar said that the joint Turkish-Russian monitoring centre in Karabakh would start operating on Saturday, January 30.
