Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskiy voiced concerns over NATO countries' reluctance to confront Russia head-on, Ednews reports.
Zelenskiy accused NATO members of tiptoeing around Russia's actions, stating, "The members of the alliance say, 'OK, OK, we will give you NATO, but not full NATO
, we invite you, but we don't invite you completely, we are not afraid of Russia, but we are a little afraid that they will respond to us.'"
Expressing frustration with what he perceives as a lack of decisive action, Zelenskiy warned of potential dire consequences if the current approach persists. "If we, like the members of the Alliance, continue this kind of weak, unconvincing dialogue, we may receive terrible calls from Russia," he stated emphatically.
The remarks come amidst heightened tensions between Ukraine and Russia, with concerns mounting over Russia's increasing assertiveness in the region. Zelenskiy's comments underscore the urgency for a unified and resolute response from the international community to counter Russia's growing influence.
