The British Ministry of Defence on Saturday said that after a period of relative calm seen last month, the city of Bakhmut has once again experienced intense fighting in the past seven days.
"Bakhmut has again been the site of some of the most intense fighting along the front," the ministry said. According to the UK, the leadership in Moscow is unlikely to concede Bakhmut due to its symbolic significance as one of the few territorial gains achieved in the past year.
