European Union High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Josep Borrell on Saturday stressed it is important Hamas doesn't maintain control of the Gaza Strip after the ongoing conflict between the group and Israel ends.
Speaking at the Manama Dialogue in Bahrai, Borrell emphasized the bloc's view that the Palestinian Authority is the only entity suitable for governance in post-war Gaza, underscoring the need for a shift in leadership.
Borrell's comments come after the Union previously underscored that a "total siege" of Gaza would not be in line with international law.
