Russia intensified its bombardment of Ukraine, especially in Kharkiv, the country's second-largest city, local authorities reported on Sunday.
Multiple drone strikes hit residential areas in the city center, causing fires and destruction, Kharkiv Mayor Ihor Terekhov said via Telegram. These attacks injured at least 21 people, and more casualties are being investigated.
In addition, local media reports indicated that Ukrainian air defenses near Kiev were activated late on Saturday to counter a drone strike, with the full extent of the damage yet to be determined.
