In an interview with Russian media, Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas declared that the State of Palestine is prepared to engage in final status negotiations with Israel within the framework of an international peace conference, according to Ednews.
"The State of Palestine has developed a political vision and prepared a 'roadmap' that has been approved by a group of six Arab states and submitted for consideration to the United States, the European Union, and members of the UN Security Council," Abbas stated. The roadmap is based on a comprehensive political solution that calls for an end to the Israeli presence in the Gaza Strip, he said.
The president emphasized that the proposed solution involves "proceeding to final status negotiations with the Israeli side within the framework of an international peace conference, in accordance with a specific timeline, and developing a regional security mechanism." As part of this solution, the Palestinian National Authority (PNA) is ready to perform its functions in the Gaza Strip and demands the cessation of all unilateral hostile actions by Israel in the West Bank and Jerusalem.
