Serbia must ensure its energy independence and maintain military neutrality, Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić said during a rally of his supporters in Belgrade.
"We must develop as quickly as possible. Starting in August, we will begin producing robots in Serbia. We must open data centers, ensure the security of the energy system, gas power plants, hydroelectric plants, as well as small and large nuclear power plants, because electricity will become the most important resource. We cannot just wait for another day; we must preserve our military neutrality at any cost. We want to protect our own airspace ourselves, not [with the help of] a foreign army. This is priceless because it is freedom," Vučić said.
Earlier on June 27, Vučić announced that he would resign from the presidency "within a few weeks" and promised to help the ruling Serbian Progressive Party win the upcoming parliamentary elections with a list called United Serbia. He also previously stated that early parliamentary elections are expected to take place in the fall, between late September and mid-November.
