Baku stage of the International Puppet Festival has concluded

A delegation of puppeteers from Ankara is visiting Baku as part of the 4th International Hadi Poyrazoglu Puppet and Garagoz Festival.

The Azerbaijan State Puppet Theater told EDnews that, in accordance with the festival program, puppet artists from the brotherly country performed two performances in different themes, genres and techniques for Baku theatergoers over two days.The audience first watched the performance "The Adventures of Garagoz" at the Azerbaijan State Puppet Theater.

The puppet artist, Seçkin Gunesh, who is loved in his field in Turkey, showed his performing skills behind the curtain of Garagoz, and the entertainment he added to the new story of Hajivat and Garagoz, which are quite popular in our country, created a good mood among the young audience.

Director of the Azerbaijan State Puppet Theater, Honored Worker of Culture Rashad Ahmadzadeh expressed his gratitude to the ministries of culture of Azerbaijan and Turkey for their support in organizing the festival at a high level, and to everyone who contributed to the gathering of brotherly artists on one stage in general.

Then, the guest puppeteers were awarded for their successful participation in the Baku stage of the festival.On the second day of the festival program, Ali Agbey, a puppeteer who holds the title of “Living Human Treasure” given to traditional craftsmen by the Turkish Ministry of Culture and Tourism, told the children about the unique history of puppets and wooden toys made in different ways, and shared information about this art form by involving them in the process.

Then, the children watched a one-part puppet show called “Friend Doll” authored and performed by puppet artist Abdullah Beyazdaş from Bursa.The main idea of ​​the musical performance consisting of string puppets was friendship and love.It should be noted that, in addition to the collective of the Azerbaijan State Puppet Theater, theater masters from Turkey, Uzbekistan and the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus also participated in the international festival.

The art festival, which started in Ankara, will continue in Uzbekistan from May 2 to 5 after the Baku stage.The closing ceremony of the event will be held in the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus.
