"Annual trade relations between Azerbaijan and Britain is worth 1.3 billion pound sterling," said UK’s Minister for Exports Lord Malcolm Offord at the 6th session of the Joint Intergovernmental Commission between the Government of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Government of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland on economic cooperation, Ednews reports via apa.
"We are determined to increase this number by accelerating and simplifying trade for businesses in both countries. The Joint Intergovernmental Commission serves as a platform to discuss ways to stimulate trade and investment growth more and faster," Minister noted.
During the meeting, the works done during the period since the 5th session of the Intergovernmental Commission were reviewed, and discussions were held regarding cooperation between the two countries in the fields of business environment, energy transition, health, infrastructure, information and communication technologies, cyber security, digital economy, mine action and identification of missing persons, education, agriculture, food security, environment and climate change.
At the end of the session, a Protocol on the conclusions of the 6th session of the Joint Intergovernmental Commission between Azerbaijan and United Kingdom and an Exclusive Distribution Agreement were signed between Bridge Group of Companies of Azerbaijan and Concrete Canvas Limited company of Great Britain.
7th session of the Commission was agreed to be held in London in 2024.
