30% of the trips to the airport area being provided by railway transport is planned in Azerbaijan, it is reflected in the Master Plan for the Development of the City of Baku until 2040, Ednews reports.
It was noted in the main goals that, provision of air transport infrastructure that can meet the predicted demand, more optimal usage of the existing terminal and air facilities instead of expansion measures requiring large costs, expanding access of commuting to the airport area, provision of public transport facilities with high passenger capacity (railway connection) are planned.
