The General Administration of Customs of the People's Republic of China (GAC) said on Saturday that Russian imports of liquefied natural gas (LNG) to the Asian country climbed by 23% in 2023, compared to the previous year.
GAC noted that China imported 8 million tons of LNG in 2023, compared to 6.5 million tons in 2022. The value of the total LNG imports from Russia in 2023 amounted to $5.18 billion, Ednews reports.
Meanwhile, Australia remained the top exporter of LNG to China, providing the country with 24 million tons of LNG, followed by Qatar, which exported 16.6 million tons of LNG to China.
