Azerbaijan aims not only to play the role of a logistics hub, but also to form a comprehensive trade and industrial center for companies from China and other countries.
EDnews informs that Teymur Nadiroglu, Azerbaijan's trade representative in China, said this in an interview with the country's Global Times.
Commenting on the agreements signed during President Ilham Aliyev's state visit to China, T. Nadiroglu noted that the visit is of great importance for activating bilateral cooperation in the context of establishing a comprehensive strategic partnership between the two countries.According to him, this will "pave the way for deeper and more comprehensive economic cooperation."
T. Nadiroglu said that investments, trade, renewable energy, as well as localization of production are among the main directions for deepening cooperation between Baku and Beijing.At the same time, he noted that China has always been an important market for Azerbaijan: "We are interested in expanding our trade channels in China and using the opportunities of this large market."
"In recent years, we have observed an increase in the number of visits of representatives and officials of Chinese companies to Azerbaijan. This will undoubtedly have a very positive impact on the overall economic cooperation between our countries," said T. Nadiroglu.
He noted that Azerbaijan plays a key role in the Trans-Caspian International Transport Route, which is of great importance for the countries participating in the "One Belt, One Road" initiative: "This has strengthened Azerbaijan's position as a strategic logistics hub. Our goal is not only to become a logistics hub, but also a trade and production center for companies from China and other countries.
