In the document [p.74], Cummings says that government policies designed to raise the performance of poorer children are “worthwhile,” but ultimately won’t make much difference, because the ability of students is shaped by their genes.
Cummings then goes on to say that we can improve our education system by recognising that genes are responsible for intellect and by personalising learning so that every child gets an education suited to their natural abilities.
Yesterday, it was revealed that Cummings had used a speech to say that Tories don’t care about poor people or the NHS. He said
“I know a lot of Tory MPs and I am sad to say the public is basically correct. Tory MPs largely do not care about these poorer people. They don’t care about the NHS. And the public has kind of cottoned on to that.”
While Cummings was trying to distance himself from these Tories, his thoughts on education indicate that he also believes in the innate superiority of the rich.
