President Atambayev as a chairman of the Supreme Eurasian Economic Council addressed on Wednesday the leaders of the Eurasian Economic Union states-members.
“The Kyrgyz Republic has been presiding over the bodies of the Eurasian Economic Union since January 1, 2017," Atambayev said in his address.
He stressed that participation of the Kyrgyz Republic in the EEU is a priority in the foreign policy of the country.
In order to accelerate the process of economic integration the Kyrgyz leader offered to dedicate 2017 to the creation of the best conditions for business development in Eurasia.
“In this regard, priority is given to activities aimed at active development of the real economy, as well as strengthening cooperation in all industrial sectors with the creation of joint ventures. It is necessary to take advantage of the division of labor, the specifics of each state to strengthen the overall economic potential,”he said.
Atambayev also emphasized the proactive position of the Eurasian Economic Commission in addressing all relevant problems and challenges facing the Union in order to further develop a common market and a common economic space.
He also expressed Kyrgyzstan’s intention to contribute actively to effective implementation of the plans and new ideas.
President Atambayev expressed hope for the support of the member states in implementation of the EEU initiatives.
“I firmly believe that the economic union is the common heritage of our peoples, a factor of stability and prosperity in Eurasia,” he concluded his address.
