The governmental delegations of Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan for delimitation and demarcation of the Kyrgyz-Tajik border held talks in Batken on October 2, Ednews reports citing AKI Press.
The delegation of Kyrgyzstan was led by Deputy Chairman of Cabinet and State National Security Committee Chairman Kamchibek Tashiev. The delegation of Tajikistan was led by State National Security Committee Chairman Saimumin Yatimov.
The delegations exchanged views about the delimitation of the Kyrgyz-Tajik state border. Heads of delegations demonstrated mutual understanding of the necessary intensification of further delineation of the conventional Kyrgyz-Tajik borderline on remaining undelimited border sections and gave respective tasks to working groups.
Topographic working groups and working groups for legal issues of governmental delegations continued work on the delimitation of the conventional borderline on remaining sections of the state border.
The delegations emphasized the importance of strengthening friendship, mutual understanding and trust between border districts, and continuation of cooperation between border regions.
The protocol was signed following the talks.
