"The proposal by Armenia regarding the withdrawal of the troops of both countries from the border is not acceptable for official Baku," Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov told a joint press conference with his Turkish counterpart Hakan Fidan in Baku on December 14, Ednews informs.
"Who can guarantee what might happen if troops are withdrawn from the border when there is no full border agreement? This proposal is not acceptable for the Azerbaijani side. The Azerbaijani Army is protecting its borders today. I do not agree with the statement of the Armenian Foreign Minister regarding the withdrawal of troops from the borders. After 30 years, the Azerbaijani Army restored its borders by having thousands of its soldiers martyred. Azerbaijan's borders can be protected only by Azerbaijani soldiers," Bayramov said.
