Ilham Aliyev has been officially put forth as a candidate for the early presidential elections by the New Azerbaijan Party (NAP), Ednews reports.
The decision on this was made at today's extended meeting of the New Azerbaijan Party leadership.
Note that on December 7, President Ilham Aliyev issued a decree declaring early presidential elections in Azerbaijan, slated to be held on February 7, 2024.

"Today, a decision should be made regarding the nomination of Ilham Aliyev for the presidency, and it will be made," Deputy Chairman of the New Azerbaijan Party (NAP) Ali Ahmadov said at the expanded meeting of the NAP Board of Directors held regarding the extraordinary presidential elections, Ednews reports.
Ali Ahmadov stated that this will be not only NAP's decision but the people of Azerbaijan's as well.
