Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan has strongly condemned the incident in a Catholic church in Istanbul, where two masked assailants shot and killed a man, Ednews informs referring to Turkish media.
The president assured that those who committed the attack will be detained within 24 hours.
“The necessary measures are being taken to catch the criminals. We hope that we will find and detain the perpetrators of the attack within 24 hours,” Erdogan said.
The attack took place around 11:40 local time at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Istanbul's Sariyer district. Two masked assailants opened fire, killing a Turkish citizen born in 1972. So far no one has claimed responsibility for the crime.
