"The last 300-350-year history of the Russian Empire, then the Soviet Union, and the Russian Federation in the North Caucasus, Transcaucasia and Central Asia is over."
Ednews reports that Yevgeny Satanovski, the president of the Russian Middle East Institute, said this in a conversation with a NEWS.am reporter.
"There will be something new but different in new circumstances. Today we are at the center of a great war with the West, where the price of the issue is not this or that military base, this or that historical region, but the existence of Russia, perhaps the existence of the whole world.
According to him, it is a fact that Transcaucasia is not Russified, and it is pointless to argue about it.
"Is Russia interested in starting a military invasion or a major regional war against Turkey at the same time as military operations in Ukraine? No, he doesn't care," Satanovski added.
