In an exclusive interview with Ednews, Rizvan Huseynov, Director of the Caucasian History Center, reflected on the recent event's profound implications for the Armenian-Azerbaijani conflict.
"Thirty years ago, individuals committed to resolving the Karabakh conflict tragically perished in Karakand. When such incidents occur, conflicting information often arises, akin to numerous comparable events involving natural disasters and technological failures," Huseynov stated.
Huseynov emphasized the importance of uncovering the truth behind such incidents, noting the peculiar circumstances surrounding the recent event, particularly the involvement of a helicopter carrying high-ranking officials.
"In essence, multiple helicopters were in flight, including one transporting the President. This scenario eerily echoes a tragic event from November 1991, when a helicopter carrying a significant Azerbaijani government delegation was downed over Karakand. Despite attributions to pilot error, residents of Karakand were well-versed in the area's geography, raising doubts about the incident's veracity. The revelation of information casting doubt on the incident's occurrence holds critical implications for our nation's internal political climate and significantly impacts the results of the Armenian-Azerbaijani conflict," Huseynov concluded.
