On August 19, Russian President Vladimir Putin visited the Alley of Martyrs in Baku, Azerbaijan, to honor those who sacrificed their lives for the country's independence.
According to Ednews, after paying tribute to Azerbaijan's national leader Heydar Aliyev, Putin proceeded to the Eternal Flame memorial.
The Russian leader followed military personnel carrying a wreath along a wall adorned with memorial plaques, each engraved with the names, lifespans, and portraits of the fallen heroes.
