Labor migration left 100 thousand children unattended in Kyrgyzstan

107,000 children in Kyrgyzstan were left unattended by their parents because of labor migration in the first half of 2019, according to Nursultan Kurmanbekov, representative of the Ministry of Labour and Social Development of Kyrgyzstan. 89,500 of them have their parents abroad. In the first half of 2018, the number of children whose parents were migrants was by 4,579 less than in 2019. The number of children left unattended because of labor migration grew by 4% in H1 2019, he added.
