“The 3rd Kharibulbul festival has already been held in our cultural capital-Shusha. By returning to their historical lands, the people of Azerbaijan breathed new life into these territories. As President Ilham Aliyev said, this festival is a celebration of return and dignity for us. Shusha is not only our cultural capital, but also our national treasure. There is nationality in every inch of the city. This city has preserved the spirit of Azerbaijan in every stone and rock.”
Azerbaijani MP Konul Nurullayeva told this to EDnews:
“It is known that "Khari Bulbul" International Music Festival has been held since 1989 in connection with the 100th anniversary of the famous singer Seyid Shushinsky. The festival was held every year in May with the participation of Japan, USA, Turkey, Germany, Israel, Italy, Spain, Austria, Afghanistan, USSR and was considered one of the most important cultural events not only in Azerbaijan, but in the whole world. We have restored this tradition thanks to our great victory for the last 3 years. Kharibulbul music festival has become one of the remarkable events in the cultural life of the country.”
“The souls of our martyrs are also happy when they celebrate the traditional Kharibulbul festival and Vagif poetry days held every year. The heroic sons of Azerbaijan freed Shusha from the enemy's hands with bare hands and hand-to-hand battles. It is no coincidence that the Kharibulbul music festival, which was held two years ago in Shusha after a long break, was also dedicated to the dear memory of our martyrs who gave the great victory with their lives and blood”, she noted.
According to her, in Shusha, all our traditions are restored, but also a dialogue of different cultures is organized here:
“The foundation of this tradition was laid with the Kharibulbul festival. This year's festival was also remembered with interesting moments. The international community saw the renewed face of the ancient Azerbaijani city of Shusha. The presentation of musical samples of different nations also showed that Azerbaijan is a tolerant and multicultural country. By returning to Shusha and Karabakh in general, we have brought prosperity to the region. Today, the sounds of music emanating from Shusha and the Cidir Plain show the modern standard of development. As our head of state said, there is development, unity, national solidarity and peace in multi-confessional, multi-ethnic countries and societies. Azerbaijan acts as a guarantor of this peace.
It is known that in the last few years, visitors to our country, social and political figures visit Shusha. We are already organizing our national and international events in Shusha. Foreign visitors see the difference between Shusha during the occupation period and Shusha today, witnessing the revival of this historic land by its original owners. Shusha is also strengthening its reputation as the cultural capital of the Turkic world.”
Azerbaijani MP added that during the visit of President Ilham Aliyev and First Lady Mehriban Aliyeva to Shusha, she witnessed the high level of improvement and construction works carried out in the city:
“The current building of the newly opened Creative Center in Shusha is also on the list of nationally important architectural monuments. In time, the Caravanserai of Aga Kahraman Mirsiyab oglu was located in the building. The building was restored to its original state during the restoration works carried out by the Heydar Aliyev Foundation from 2022. By restoring all the monuments of Shusha in the original style, we once again prove to the world that our cultural capital is historically the land of Azerbaijan. Shusha, which is nearly 3 centuries old, has always belonged to Azerbaijan. It is no coincidence that water came from the "Khan gizi Natavan" spring, which was dried up by the Armenians, exactly after the Azerbaijanis returned to this area. These springs will never dry up. Every inch of Shusha is alive. The real owners of these lands ensure it. In short, we see traces and symbols of Azerbaijani culture and history, as well as our great Victory, in every inch of Shusha.”
