On January 26, another meeting was held at the International Eurasia Press Foundation with its delegation that will participate as observers in the presidential elections in Azerbaijan on February 7.
Ednews informs that a part of the organization's independent observer team took part in the meeting held at the main office of İEPF. İEPF President Umud Mirzayev gave the observers extensive information about their rights and duties, which are mentioned in the book "Memory for Observers" prepared by the Central Election Commission for the observers of the extraordinary presidential elections. According to him, the purpose of today's meeting is to refresh our memory about the election law:
"The memory book was compiled based on the provisions of the Election Code and instructions, explanations, rules and other normative documents approved by the Central Election Commission. In the publication, a number of basic concepts related to elections were explained, the principles of observation were reflected, and the rights and duties of observers were clearly indicated.
U. Mirzayev also spoke about the meeting at the Tartar Regional Vocational Training Center on January 25:
"We had a discussion about what we have done so far. Since our registration, we have taken a number of steps and implemented measures both in Baku and in the regions. Most of our observers are registered in electoral districts. The registration process of all observers will be completed as soon as possible."
On the election day, U. Mirzayev said that the monitoring activities of İEPF will be coordinated from a single center:
"Our observers will regularly collect and disseminate objective information on the election day. At the end, a final report on the presidential election will be prepared. This final report will also be sent to international organizations," he said.
It should be noted that none of the employees involved in the surveillance by İEPF have any political affiliation.
It should be noted that the "Memory book for observers" contains the provisions of the Election Code of the Republic of Azerbaijan, the relevant decree on the application of the Election Code, as well as the decrees of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan dated May 11 and October 25, 2005, the Instructions, Explanations and Rules adopted by the Central Election Commission.
