The year 2020 has been declared the Year of Turkmenistan – Neutrality Home Country. The respective decision was made by the Mejlis of Turkmenistan on December 27, Eurasia Diary reports citing AKIpress.
12 December 1995 is a landmark date in history of Turkmenistan. It is the say when the neutrality status was recognized by the resolutions of the UN General Assembly and December 12 was declared the International Day of Neutrality by the UN General Assembly.
“For the purpose of promotion of big projects and historical programs aimed at prosperity of the country, strengthening of economic strength, improvement of living conditios of people, explanation of the main ideas of large-scale transformations, domestic and foreign policy of the state, in connection with the 25th anniversary of neutrality status, the Mejlis decided to declare 2020 the year of Turkmenistan – Neutrality Home Country,” the resolution of the Mejlis said.
