Russia, China, Pakistan, Iran reach good agreement on Afghanistan - Iranian official

The Iranian Foreign Ministry Spokesman Saeed Khatibzadeh has said that a meeting among representatives of Russia, China, Pakistan and Iran bore good fruit and that they will issue a statement in a few hours, Eurasia Diary reports citing IRNA.

Khatibzadeh addressed reporters on the results of meeting among representatives from the four neighboring states of Afghanistan in recent days, saying that the four states have had an inclusive sessions.

During the days before, the delegations of these four countries held detailed talks, which continued even after the brief meeting of the four foreign ministers on Thursday.

The agreements of the mutual meetings between Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amirabdollahian and his Russian, Chinese, and Pakistani counterparts will be announced in the near future, he said.

The foreign ministers of these four countries held talks on Afghanistan on the sidelines of the 21st Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) in Dushanbe, Tajikistan.

According to the spokesman, the subjects and agreements of the meetings will be reflected in the upcoming statement, which will be issued in the next hours.

The four states are trying to exert their positive influence to help Afghanistan find a proper way to establish an inclusive government and consolidate security and stability in the war-torn country.
