The US continues to look for ways to increase natural gas supplies to Europe, and more work remains to be done in this direction, but Washington has already managed to achieve some success, White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre said at a press briefing, the White House website.
"We’ve made progress since March. Global LNG exports to Europe has risen by 84 percent compared to 2021, while the US share of those LNG exports have been nearly tripled," she said.
"We know we have more work to do. And we’ll keep looking for ways to increase gas stockpiles in Europe, coupled with efforts to reduce Europe’s demand for natural gas through energy efficiency and clean energy deployment. The path to energy security requires a doubling down on our efforts to transition to a clean energy economy, and we continue to work with Europe on this shared goal."
