An earthquake with a magnitude of 5.5 hit Indonesia's Southern Sumatra, the European-Mediterranean Seismological Centre (EMSC) reported on Monday, Ednews informs.
According to the EMSC, it struck a depth of 66 kilometers at around 6:05 pm local time. The quake hit the region 94 kilometers south of Pagar Alam, home to 70,300 people, and 137 kilometers southeast of Bengkulu, the second largest city on the west coast with a population of 309,000.
No tsunami warning has been issued and no damage reported so far.
