Local elections in four dominantly Serbian municipalities in northern Kosovo were held on Sunday, with the majority of voters residing in these regions boycotting, Ednews reports citing foreign media.
According to the Kosovo Online portal, the municipalities of North Kosovska Mitrovica, Zvecan, Zubin Potok and Leposavic are holding elections today, with the Serbs refusing to participate due to "broad pressures and provocations" from the Kosovo Albanian state authorities.
Around 98% of the voters will not be present at voting stations across the region, per the report, due to the boycott supported by the Serbian government in Belgrade. "There will be a complete occupation" after the elections, Serbia President Aleksandar Vucic claimed yesterday.
