French prosecutors said on Wednesday they opened a war crime investigation into the death of AFP reporter Arman Soldin who was killed in Ukraine.
EDnews informs via Teletrader that the investigation has been assigned to the Central Office for Combating Core International Crimes and Hate Crimes (OCLCH), which will tr to determine the circumstances of the journalist's death.
Soldin, who worked as the agency's Ukraine video coordinator, died on Tuesday in a rocket attack near Bakhmut. AFP Chairman Fabrice Fries said Soldin's death marked a "terrible reminder of the risks and dangers" that journalists covering the war in Ukraine face.
